Your manual should talk about this, but OK, here we go:
1. Don't crosspost excessively. Followups to comp.os.linux.
2. Are there any other partitions on the drive?
3. Select a chunk of empty space (or create one by deleting partitions).
4. Create a partition of the desired size, starting at the beginning of
the empty space.
