I'm having a problem. It's assumed that I should have the environmental variable, REMOTE_USER available to me. However, being very new to linux (RedHat v5.2) and using Apache, along with a software protection program, I can't seem to make this work. I've been webmastering for about 9 months now, and I convinced the server's owner to use linux since it was easier to use and just as powerful as Irix, which is the preferred os. But I'm lacking in some areas, as much as I've learned. This is regarding the pay area of the server, and the ability to be able to tell the user who s/he is. I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks. Pat Flickner
