Hi, I have seen this movie. Have "el-cheapo" NE2000 clone, no jumpers and no software. It requisited irq3 which belongs also to COM2 which on my box feeds the modem. I have a modern BIOS which allows setting different irq to COM2. Let it have 9 which defaults to 2. Windows understood like a grown up, Linux was limping. But the Linux kernel does not listen to BIOS but listens very carefully to rc files. I noticed that while booting it tells me that ttS1 has irq3 and later that eth0 uses the same. OK, RTFM, go to rc.serial disable auto irq assignment, write the assignments as I want, edit rc.local to call rc.serial and everything works. Hope this helps Stanislaw. andersen@mweb.co.za wrote: > Hi, a little while ago I posted a help, a few people replied for which I am > grateful. Thanks! But still the thing don't work none!
