Hi Chris: Had the same problem with my modem. Still having trouble. As far as the SB card, I think this may work. Go into the COAS and the into the Kernel Mgr. Try and load the sb module. If it fails, like mine did, reboot to the bios and disable the "PNP Aware O/S" option in the BIOS. Then go back into the COAS/Kernel Mgr and reload the sb Module. Reboot and open the the CD player, you should have sound at this point. By the way, posted below this reply is the directions for creating a sybolic link to the cdrom so the desktop icon will work. Follow those instructions and you should do fine. As far as the networking goes, this is relatively easy if you follow the instructions in the Caldera Manual and have some solid base knowledge of TCP/IP networking. The trick is to make sure the IP addresses in the cards (Host & Clients) are on the same primary and subnet mask. i.e. Server is set at 210.0.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, with workgroup set to HOME. At this point make sure you edit the smb.conf and change the Domain/Workgroup name to HOME. when you reattatch the PC(s) to the server, you should see any shared directories you created such as public. When you try to access the the directory be sure you're logged into the PC as a valid Linux user and use the password for the user that is in the Linux login. I've seen some people have lots of trouble with the password issues and seen lots of complex answers, re: encryption etc...but I just used the users Linux password and it works just fine. Keep in mind, Linux is more of a challenge than Win9x or NT. Be patient and post questions when you need help. I'm a SCO Unix Cert & AIX/RS600 Cert and I still have trouble do Don't feel bad if it doesn't work right out of the bucket. There's lots of horror stories that I have from SCO installs that went bad Gilly Chris Seaton wrote: > Now I have a few other questions.
