For the CDROM:
	I had the same problem two days ago (I just installed RedHat 5.1). 
Although I installed it from the CD-ROM, the "default" kernel doesn't
recognize the iso9660 filesystem.  The way I solved the problem was to
recompile the kernel.  The easiest way to do this was to make xconfig -
if you have X Window running (else use 'make menuconfig' or 'make
config').  Be sure to specify that you want iso9660 "support".  Anyway,
you really should read the Kernel-HOWTO (which should be with your other
docs or see http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html ) before
recompilling it.  The same may apply to the other OS disks...

For the screen resolution under X:
	Have you tried running XF86Setup?  Just make sure to backup the
XF86Config file, 'cause it took me a while to get any kind of resolution
at all to function under X.
