Does anybody have experience on Tandberg 3800 (SCSI) tape streamers

Linux seems to accept the streamer, but fail writing the tape, even a
"initialize tape" fail.  The tape is not write protected and the the SCSI
adress seems OK, my primary disk and my swap discs works OK.
