I've been trying to install the Glib libraries for the last couple
days and I keep running into a conflict with older files.

I can't uninstall the older libraries due to dependencies.   What am I
supposed to do to remove the conflict?

I'm running redhat 5.1,  standard installation with the provided
compiler libraries.

Any help would be appreciated!
