There is no Unix.

UNIX is a trademark, not an OS

There are several Unix OS: HP-UX, IBM-AIX, SUN, SCO, LINUX, SIEMENS,
OLIVETTI. (none named Unix, because the name Unix belong(ed) to ATT)

They come from SystemV ATT BSD ....

But for a programmer Unix is Unix, all the API are very similar, even the
shells are similar (also they differ more than the API) (Of course all the
csh, bash ... are the same ...)

Of course there are difference between these Unix. There is as much
difference between Linux and Hp-Ux, than there is between Hp-Ux and IBM-Aix
or IBM-Aix and Linux.

The difference are more significant when we talk about utilities (especially
for Network) that come with the Os. You can find OpenView with the HP, SAX
with Linux (S.U.S.E. i guess), ...

In conclusion, Linux is absolutely a TRUE Unix, like is HP or IBM ..., with
his own personnality !
