I figured out why some video cards have black screens with x! You are dual
booting winblowz and have your refresh set to a high rate in winblowz! Like
1024x768@85Hz will make Xwindows black out unless you have a specific
monitor. I tested this with a Matrox Card also on a different comp and sure
enough! It blacked out until I switched back to a lower refresh in windows.
If this isn`t the case with your comp, please let me know and I may be able
to help you out (not sure how, but I'll try  ;P  )
