Hello World.
I have been a Linux user for two weeks now .I have read until i fall to
sleep at night ,I take my Linux Undercover book to work and read it .
So far only one snag !! and is it a big one ...
I will tell you everything i have done so far ok.
I downloaded UMP the midi player for linux ( So when i go to my friends
midi site i can listen to his midi's. ) Then i unzipped and un tared the

file (no problems so far) i ran chmod and set rwx modes then i moved
the new ump.so file to /netscape/plugins (now the problems start ) Then

i tried to install the program no matter what i did it would not
install.... so i got my book out and nothing as far as info about
setting up software you download from the net .(example = linux
undercover page 142 upgrading other software , Un tar the file and run
set up on the program to make a long story short ...) Will someone
please tell me how to run the install program . so i can install this
program i know its a little program but if i cant get it installed i
cant get anything installed i download.
Also : if you have ump can you tell me how to make sure netscape list it

in the plug-ins list .
Here is my e-mail if you would like to email the info to me .
