New at Linux redhat 5.1

Just did my first install of redhat 5.1 went wonderful... Decided to try it
on a new server that was just built a dual xeon Pent II 400 processors on a
Super Micro MB with scsi Adaptec built on a GX chipset!!! Anyway while
booting from CD install it asks for which adapter so I am forced to use
Adaptec 2740,2940,2940... Once I select it goes to next screen and asks for
autoprobing  or specific options... If I let it autoprobe it hangs the
system,,,, what if any specifics do I need to give if I leave blank it
hangs,,, help!!!!!! I don't want another operating system on this
machine!!!!!!!!
