Hai I also new to linux.I believe you have to tell them which distribution
you are using.Currently I`am using RedHat 5.1.At first I also cannot run my
X-windows.After reading the manual I decided to install in expert mode by
pressing F3 for my RedHat system and I select SVGA server for my display
card.I`am using S3Verge.Good luck Mike
