some quesion about setup the monitor display in linux "redhat"

I am trying to install the redhat linux into my PC. I have some problems
to configure my
monitor display. The monitor display always setup like 300*300 which is
very big. I try
to get into the "setup" and change it to 1250*780 but it always go back
to 300*300 when I exit the setup. Is there someone can help me?
