???SIOCADDRT error at bootup...problems with network???

I installed Caldera Linuxversion 1.3 the other day. I used to have
1.2 but did a complete re-install. Now, when I boot up, I get an
error:

SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument
etho: initialization failed

Now..I can ping my local network but not out of the network through my
default gateway (which is my windows puter with two ethernet cards).
I am using Sygate to share my cable modem. I used Lisa to set the
default gateway and I edited the hosts file and resolve.conf for my
nameserver. I checked system.cnf and all seems as it should be. I
even tried rebuilding the kernel.

Do you have any clue what this error message is and why I can't get
out of my local network?? Somehow I don't think Linux knows about my
default gateway...which is obviously the link to the outside world....

I was able to do this with the old version of linux no problem. Let
me know if you can help.....

Henry
