i'd like to install linux on my old computer (486, 8mb) to play around with. It currently has windows 95 installed on it. It's been collecting dust in my basement. i bought sam's teach yourself linux in 24 hours which has a redhat linux version included. I was thinking about adding some more memory but decided i don't really want to spend much upgrading the old computer if i could get away with it. For that reason, i would like to get rid of windows and using linux instead. How do i get rid of the old operating system and is it recommended that i do anything to upgrade my computer? i would appreciate any advice on this and any tips on where i might go to learn more about unix.? thanx in advance, i appreciate any advice.
