Hi,
1. To mount your cd rom just type (as root) mount  /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
(this will mount the cd rom on to the /mnt/cdrom file. if you want to mount
it to a diffrent file then change the /mnt/cdrom path. like
/myfiles/mycdrom.....)
2. to set up ppp go to your dis' web site and look for howto ppp
