You can create your linux partitions, i think a linux native who take i think the majority of the place on your hdd, and a linux swap partition of about 128 M maximum...make sure you are on the good drive ... also in this case /dev/hdc ... > l did notice that fdisk did no have a drive letter for the this drive The partitions under linux aren't like under dos, you can't choose a drive letter, but only mount drives into directories ... what we call a file system... When you have finished partitioning your hard drive, i think you can begin installing your components ... But you must create too a boot disk with lilo on it... your setup programm will certainly propose you (create your LILO boot disk), like this, if you want to reinstall, you dont have to reconstruct the zin98 FAT and MBR... Master Boot Record is where are inscribed the boot sequences and if you tell LILO to write the new MBR in replacement of other, you wont be able to boot anymore, zin98 nor linux ... Normally, you will be asked for many things creating your lilo configuration but ... IF I MADE ERRORS WRITE IT HERE ... >another quest >is how do l uninstall linux from this drive . >please respond > >THANK YOU cupples@one.net.au > >
