Try using one of the internet search engines. I find it difficult NOT
to stumble across a linux site every few links.

Pah! Linux doesn't have viruses (famous last words..). Linux has got
good security, and makes a viruses life very difficult. Sure there are
viruses for Linux, but for them to be a problem you have to find and
install them yourself ;)

It sounds like your computer just found windows on the hard disk ;).

Actually, some bios's (bioii? what is the plural?) have a bit of virus
detection stuff, and tell you whenever something writes to the boot
sector of your primary disk boot sector.

Easy fix: get into the bios settings (usually press [delete] when
booting, or try ctrl-alt-esc), and disable the virus protection.
