Hello, This is my first posting to this or any Linux group. A freind and co-worker has convinced me to convert my computer into a dual boot NT/Linux (Actually he wants me to take NT off - which is not practical because the real world is Windows/NT (with their problems). Anyway, I have four hard drives on my computer. I am going to replace my 1 gb drive with a much larger drive and want to use my 2 gb or 4 gb drive for Linux. My friend says that the 2 gb drive will be adequate for the graphics (3D & etc.) programs that I will want to use. I doubt this because 2 gb disk space will not allow me to put NT and too many apps (CorelDRAW, Bryce, Infini-D, Photoshop and Painter) on the drive and have enough space for graphic files. I am interested in getting similiar programs if they exist on the LINUX platform. I know that POV RAY was ported to LINUX Will 2 gb be enough? He claims that LINUX and the LINUX programs are so much smaller than the Win/NT versions that I will have more than enough space. My friend is a die heart LINUX fan. He swears that it is much better than NT (which he has never used). Is he right about this.
