Linux is a very user-unfriendly enviorment. Make absolutly sure that you
know what you are doing. They make it sound better than it is. If you know
what you are doing, it is excellent, if not you're screwed. My suggestion is
that you back up the files curently on your system, format, then make a
Linux Partition. Install ALL OPTIONS (You WILL need them if you are a
newbie). BUT MAKE ABSOLUTLY SURE THAT YOU INSTALL LILO ON THE PARTITION
RATHER THAN THE MASTER BOOT RECORD. THIS WAY YOU CAN DELETE THE PARTITION
AND REIMAGE WINDOWS ON TO A NEW PARTITION. If you are simply interested in
getting away from Windows, just try IBM O/S 2 Warp 4. It is user friendly,
runs most Windows executables, and O/S 2 executables, plus DOS. It is also
voice powered, meaning you can "Tell" it what to do with a microphone. It
also costs a quick $199.99, but I think it is worth it. If not, take it back
to the store and make up some crap like it wont run on you machine, and the
SHOULD give you your money back. E-mail me if you need help. Glad to
help(ThaSaint@flash.net (Yes, with an 'A')). :-)
