I'm sure this is likely to bring up a huge heated debate, as did the topic that progressed from the root dir password post. My question, I'm just starting to learn UNIX (taking a course in college) and I want to install Linux on my home machine. What is the best version to install? Slackware, Debian/GNU, Red Hat?? The box at school (which I can telnet into) is a sun 5.6 I believe. I've heard red hat is almost too simple, and while I want something I can manage, I really don't want the training wheels? Also, where can I get X-Windows(the best version)? Sorry for the bombardment of ?'s... really appreciate it -Scoots
