Well, you're not assigning a terminal or anything.  You're just running
bash.

I don't know if the doshell command is still available with these
newfangled distributions, but I use
c8:1235:respawn:doshell /dev/tty8 /usr/local/bin/bclock.sh
very successfully for years.
