I use Mandrake 7.2 for easier install but I had to use ALSA for my
sound card configuration. ALSA stands for Advanced Linux Sound
Architecture and has successfully detected and installed my sound
card. As for the modem, I have a cable modem and have no clue how to
help you on that one. Although, have you tried KPPP?
