Why is this important to you?  Personally, installing a new OS doesn't
fill me with a feeling of power; it makes me think, "gee, this is boring,
I wish I could get it over with and do some real work."

I've installed linux a few times because that's what I had to do to use
linux, and I like using linux a lot.  But the installation in itself isn't
particularly interesting, and I don't think that, say, a week of
installing different distributions on the same hardware would be a good
introduction to the OS.
