Mandrake 7.1. I can telnet and ftp to my server, but I can NOT access my
server via IE/HTTP. I found the index.shtml that contains the default page
for the server but I can never get it to display. I have set my hosts.allow
to include ALL: 127. I also tried ALL:ALL. As well, the hosts.deny is
empty. This box is for educational purposes only and does not have an
Internet connection directly attached to it.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

Maybe the problem is that your IE is looking for
index.html and not index.shtml? Or maybe your
apache does not recognize a .shtml file as your
default page. Just try it out.
