I am new to Linux and have just put SuSe 6.4 onto my system successfully. I
would like to setup my PC as a mail an internet server for a small network.
I have heard that samba is one of the programs to try for this purpose. I
think Samba is one of the Programs that comes with SuSe 6.4. I have tried to
load what I thought was Samba onto my system and it said it was only 7.8Mb
in size. That seemed to be too small to me to do the job.
Am I on the right track and where do I find the Samba program once it is
installed?

I am also new :-) but I think you should read sendmai
(http://www.sendmail.org) and
IMAP (http://www.washington.edu/imap). Samba is not for sending mail.
