HELP!!!

I installed Linux Mandrake 7.0 (dual boot linux / win98) on a new
system with onboard sound and ethernet. On the install, it did not
detect either one. I'm running an Intel motherboard. My system
summary from windows tells me I have "soundMAX intergrated digital
audio" and "intel pro/100 ve network connection". Any way of me
manually forcing these 2 item's to work? From what I've read, my
hardware may not be supported (due to limited support????). Beyond
that, I'm not sure I'm going to the right place within linux to
manually install these. Any help with this would be GREATLY
appreciated.

The problem is the intergrated sound and ethernet card, they only work under
Windows, unless someone creates software for them in Linux, which probably
wont happen :P Ive had kind of the same problem with my modem, its a
Winmodem and has software specially made for windows and linux doesn't even
know its there :P I think you might ahve to buy a new sound and ethernet
card :p. Its a bummer, I know :P you could also try going to your mother
board manufacturers website or calling their tech support line....

Hope that helped,
Nils
