I have succesfully installed RedHat linux 6.2 But I am unable to telnet to my linux box ?The message i get is connection refused by the host.I checked hosts.allow and deny and seems to be OK. Is there anyway I can install the TCP wrappers alone separately on my m/c? thanks Tom

This is disabled for security reasons (and should stay disabled). Try to connect as a normal user. Always keep in mind that all passwords are transmitted without any encryption! (that's why root access is insecure) Nordi
