After installing SuSE linux I tried to use my modem but have recently discovered that winmodems are a no go no win situation, I wonder if BillGates had a hand in somewhere, I have also discovered there are win printers about, does this mean we will see wincomputers rearing there ugly heads. Can anyone advise me on a good modem that works well with linux, And how can i help to spread the word "Bill Gates is a conspiracey" Regards Jason

try an external modem...I inherited an old Zoom external modem from work, and it functions fine with Red Hat. Haven't tried my new Creative Labs v90 external, but I'm sure it will work as well.
