There is a need for a Linux driver for the Intel(R) PRO/DSL modem. This PCI card is the interface which USWEST provides its DSL lite customers now. It uses PPP with DSL. It works great with Windoze 98. I personally get 640 kbps down and 270 up regularly. There will be thousands of these devices distributed in the western states as USWEST replaces the Cisco router and ethernet setup with this new card. Anyone got any ideas? I really want to use this with Linux. I hope one of you Linux gurus will write a driver for it. Best regards, Stan Finley

Well, I dont know if someone will write a drive for it, but Im sure that you will still be able to use the NIC and router. I dont know why I would want to go to a card anyway, that would just add problems(Firewall Issue). I would much rather have the firewall than a DSL card. Bummer deal for you... I HAD that problem. Save yourself alot of headache and get the Cisco 675 modem. That intel modem sucks anyway Stanton Finley wrote: > There is a need for a Linux driver for the Intel(R) PRO/DSL modem.
