Newbie here.....be kind. <heh> I read, during installation of RedHat 6.1, that I must tell the install that I have SCSI drives to get the system to recognize the 100 Meg Zip drive (external, parallel). I did that, but the install said it couldn't detect it. Now that the install is done, is there anything I can do to get it to work? Issue #2. there's a printer that's daisy-chained off of the zip. It's a HP DeskJet 710c. That is also not working. Any ideas on how to get that up and running too? Thanx ahead of time Greg

Make a directory in your /mnt/ directory called /zip from root prompt - - cd /mnt/ then mkdir /zip then go to your /etc/fstab file and add this line /dev/hdxx /mnt/zip vfat user, noauto,re 0 0 hdxx being whatever your zip drive is, it can be hdd4 also to make sure it can be seen you need to add to /etc/rc.d/rc.local the following command: modprobe ppa That should do it for the zip drive. I'm curious to see if the printer starts working. I've got 2 parallel ports so my zip and printer are separated, not pass through. Hope this helps and good luck. See ya' B. B.
