Hi, I'm tring to get through my first (redhat)linux installation a bit at a time. To start with, I got rid of windows and started fresh which of course would have wiped out all my files. I'm at the point where I pick my cd-rom which is a mitsumi, then you have the choice of autoprobe or specify driver files. I thought that I wrote down all my computer info there is that I would need but I don't know what to put for the base IO port and the misc. options. It can't find any drivers on my hard drives. Do I have to install my cd-rom software/drivers? Also, on the choice list of cd-roms there was mitsumi alternate-what is this? I did figure out that with the plain mitsumi the ext. is mcd whereas the ext. for the alternate is mcdx. I appreciate any help. pecsnif@mindspring.com
