something along these lines c:\linux\loadlin\loadlin.exe c:\linux\loadlin\vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 ro vga=3 of course your path will change around alil bit depending on your particular setup, should be able to get loadlin off the linux cd, once in linux, you should be able to delete wtf, or for that matter, you should be able to reconfigure your autoexec.bat file with the one that comes from the win98 startup disk that is how mine is going, works perfect, asks which one win98 or linux, if your at all creative, you can have it go nicely...email me for a more detailed layout of it :) -bobby copenhagen@hot.rr.com Roy Verschuur <roy.v@pandora.be> wrote in message news:MO4W4.65658$jO1.80269@afrodite.telenet-ops.be... > Hello my name is Roy and i would like to ask a question to everybody who > might know the solution. > I got this problem caused by my own dumbness ofcourse bet nevertheless its > there so i was wondering if anyone could help me here ... > > The problem is this : > > I have Win 98 and Linux together installed on my HD but i had a serious > problem with the win OS so i had to reinstall it but stupid as i am i forgot > that i had lilo installed and by reinstalling windows the whole bootsector > will be erased so i hav a minor problem here i got this 3Gig partition i > cant get acces to i cant delete it and i cant read it > I trie with FDISK te delete te extenden partition but it told me he couldnt > delete an extended partition while there existed logical drives on the > partition so i tried to remove the logical drives but then FDISK told me > there wherent any logical drives so i got stuck there ....Maybe a lowlevel > format from the BIOS? no way that option doesnt exist anymore in my BIOS so > .....FIPS didnt work either so i dont have my cds here what can i do to > acces my linux partition if i have nothing backed up i tried with loadlin > and it boots until a certain moment he panicsabout the kernel so i tried > to find a kernel but i cant find a complete kernel compiled and all so can > anyone tell me please what i have to do ??? > > You can reply me in 3 languages choose wich one is the easiest one for u > Nederlands > English > Francais > > Thnx in advance > Roy Verschuur > Roy.v@pandora.be > > > >

I did the same thing once with RH6.0. To fix it, I got out my Linux CD (the same one I originally installed from) and "upgraded" to the same version. I didn't repartition anything or change any packages. About the only thing the upgrade process did was reinstall LILO - no data loss or anything. Good Luck.
