I just got linux RH 6.1, I've been messing with it installing it and reinstalling it. Just to help get the feel of it. Then I tried to reformat the hard drive, and reinstall windows. fdisk won't reformat the drive for DOS! It lists the / partition as a non dos partition but it won't let me delete it. It tells me i can't delete the partition because it contains logical drives, but when I try to delete the logical drive it says this partition contains no logical drives and it's back to step one! There must be a way to re format a drive back to DOS???????But How????????????? LHR

This is a real bad example of how limited anything from Microsoft really is. I used an old application from '93 called "Disk Manager" by on-track to get the partition table into proper shape. You might try doing it with the install disk of Linux and using the Linux fdsisk. -- From Damien, http://www.linuxshop.com.au "LongHairedRedneck" <longhairedredneck@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:957500710.303565@users.anet-stl.com... > I just got linux RH 6.1, I've been messing with it installing it and > reinstalling it. fdisk can't work with ext2fs so use RH's disk druid or format to remove all linux slices. reboot the system to DOS and do anything the "usual MS" way. Greetz, Ron.
