Please could someone help me. I am getting the following error. I put in a
post a while back but for some reason I have not been able to down load that
message again. The error I am getting is:-

execve failed for /etc/x11/x (errno2)
_X11tranSocket NIXconnect : can't connect : errno = 111 giving up.
Xinit : Connection refused (errorno 111) unable to connect to X server.
Xinit : No such process (errno3) : server error

Any help would be appreciated!
Grant

You have to configure the Xwindows system before you can use it.
You also have to have the correct Xserver for your video card installed.
So for example:
You have RedHat 6.# installed and your system has a Riva TNT video card...
You can only use this system if you have installed the "nvida" (riva)
xserver and use a resolution (monitor) which your monitor can handle.
If you get this error message at boot time, you should re-install Linux and
be sure to choose a "text" based logon.
