Hello everyone.

I have hit the point where I feel I am ready to evolve to Linux. My
partner and I are even ready to start a linux box at work. I have
absolutely no experience with Linux as of yet. I am looking into Red
Hat, and I have downloaded the ISO386 image that it says I need to
start. I have a couple questions:

1) Is that all I need to install the OS? (My bios does allow for a cd
rom boot)

2) What is the difference between the GNOME and the KDE workstation?

3) The Iso386 image is supposed to work for the Intel chip, but I have
an Athlon. Will this still work, or should I use a different image?

4) If we put together a linux box at work, what are the key elements I
should look for/avoid in a computer?

Thanks, I really do appreciate it.

Chris.

Don't think you'll have a problem, but not 100% sure
