You might remember my last post about the vid card. Well i'm past that, i switched over to sues 6.3 I was just wondering how do i access my win partitions in sues. I tried adding /dev/hda1 /mnt/dos vfat defaults 00 but when i boot i get something about vfat not supported in my kernal. I'm still very new and not quite sure how i add this to my kernal. Thanx!!!

Not doing this may cause problems up the road.

Hmm, well, I guess you could compile it into the kernel (or as a module, whatever..), but since you're pretty new to Linux, that's probably not an option. I use SuSE 6.1 myself, and if I'm correct, the default kernel has support for umsdos, so you might try replacing 'vfat' with 'umsdos'. Also, and this is probably a lot simpler, you can add a mount point with YaST (not sure about YaST2, never seen it). Simply choose the following: Adjustment of installation -> Set target partitions/filesystems It's as simple as that! See ya, Emerald

Not for a complete newbie! <snip> Or better still, why not read the kernel docs in the source if you feel like going ahead anyway. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ian Smith ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
