: Hello Gurus, : I use RH6.2 as ftp server, when I do ftp as follows, the error login failed always occur. Any advise? What are you using for login and passwd? Are they correct? is that user in the machine. what about anonymous? Well, it's 22:54 Sun 12/15/99 and either your server is turned off or you have ftp turned off as I cannot ftp you nor ping you. Perhaps this bit of info can help in some small way. I'm running SuSE 6.2 and I can ftp myself so I know that al least the srevice is turned on for my machine. dumb question : isn't the password null ? FTP, as far as I know, does not accept blank passwords ...
