I want to underscore the fact that I am a novice when it comes to Linux, however, the more I learn or have the ability to do in a Linux environment this less dependant I will be on MS products which is my ultimate goal. I'll be as forthcoming as I possibly can. I have been battling Sendmail for approximately a month maybe longer, truthfully I'm not sure anymore. At any rate I'm finally willing to admit that I need some help! Clearly my understanding of Sendmail is such that it warrants assistance form an expert. I've read countless pages of documentation and over edited both my sendmail.cf & sendmail.mc files to the point where I had to revert back to back-ups of the original files in order to be able to send/receive mail from and to whom I still had the ability to. In essence to make my long story short I am using RH7.3 with it's preloaded version of sendmail (8.11.6-15) and I've done as much as I can stand to no avail, relaying, masquerading, etc the list goes on. No matter what I've tried when I send mail to let's say "rr.com" or verizon.com my mail gets bounced obviously because of their inability to resolve my private domain name part of an anti-spam initiative. Surely there must be someone out there who can provide me with a viable solution. Please consider helping a newbie, and assistance would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.
