I'm new to Linux. I recently insstalled Red Hat 7.2 and everything installed
fine. I then downloaded "open office," on a windows machine and berned it on
a CD to install on my Linux machine. It a .tar file and it comes up in
Nautilus but when I try to install it I gwet this error:

"Nautilus has no installed viewer capable of displaying
/mnt/cdrom/NewFolder/OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar."

Any help would be a appreciated.

Thanks all

I haven't tried OpenOffice, but if you can download it as a .rpm file, that
would be easier to install. To install this .tar file, you will need to
use the command line. Create a directory, cd into it and type
tar xvf /mnt/cdrom/NewFolder/OOo_1.0.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar
(you can copy and paste the filename, or use wildcards); then look for
a README.
