Linux Install Problem

I am having trouble installing the Linux Debian Distribution. The
instuctions for installation say to make the rescue disk and boot from
it (using "rawrite2 -f resc1440.bin -d a"). This works fine. I try to
boot, and it goes to "boot: " prompt. I am supposed to press enter to
start installing, when I do it tries to load "root.bin"and fails. Any
suggestions? Please email me. Many thanks.

I've never installed Debian but I know in slakware you need to make a root
disk. This is perhaps what you are missing. You make a root disk the
same way you made the others with rawrite. Look for root.bin or something
like it in your distribution. Then after it's done with the boot disk put
the root disk in.
