I am trying to use a brand new SupraExpress 56i Internal modem with slackware. Yesterday, everything was working fine with my PPP connection with my ISP and my old 33,600 modem. However with this new modem I am experiencing difficulties. Suprisingly, it does dial okay. It just never initializes the PPP connection. So I decided to dial into one of the non-56k (K56Flex Protocol) my ISP has and I got connected, just at a painfully slow speed...we're talking like 300bps here, and I got disconnected after about five minutes. Well anyways...now I cannot attain a PPP connection. Also, just in case you are wondering. It's not my modem or ISP, because I am able to connect using NT or 95 on the same computer at some incredible speeds. What gives? ----- Justin M. Wilson
