This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_000D_01C11801.3B5C6770 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable =20 I=B4ve got an old INFORMIX-4gl 1.10.00B/2.10.00B >and an old INFORMIX-SQL Version 2.10.00B From the year 1989!!!=20 So I had programmed my software for General medicine. (written in 4gl, = compiled in C) All this is running under SCO-XENIX-V 2.3.2 (1989) ... and it is running and running and running OK. =20 But because I want to use modern hardware in my work (Internet, ZIP, = modern printer) I thougth, LINUX could be a chance. Unfortunatly I could not load this old INFORMIX under LINUX-suse = (MESSAGE-EROR). Do you suggest, what the reason could be? Is that due to the kernel-tuning? Or is it due to the old INFORMIX-version? > Which LINUX would you advise for this purpose? Or could I install my old XENIX under LINUX? Eventually as EMULATION? > Why don=B4t I load a modern INFORMIX? Because with a modern INFORMIX I would need modern programming-tools and = certenly I would have to reprogram all my softwarem which would be a = hard work.> Who knowes, where I can get the oldest INFORMIX, which would run under = LINUX? Many thanks Philipp Walderdorff ------=_NextPart_000_000D_01C11801.3B5C6770 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.3103.1000" name=3DGENERATOR>

I=B4ve = got an old=20 INFORMIX-4gl 1.10.00B/2.10.00B<?xml:namespace prefix =3D o ns =3D=20 "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" = />
<P class=3DMsoNormal style=3D"MARGIN-LEFT: 14.15pt"><FONT = face=3DArial><SPAN=20 style=3D"COLOR: blue; DISPLAY: none; mso-hide: all">><SPAN=20 style=3D"COLOR: blue">and an old INFORMIX-SQL Version=20 2.10.00B

From the year = 1989!!!=20

So I had = programmed my=20 software for General medicine.
