Can anyone tell me if linux will operate with an AMD Athlon 1200 processor.
I have been searching around for info but can't seem to locate any.

I know the feeling, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. AMD
Athlons work fine with almost all the varieties of Linux I know about,
your only problem may come with the motherboard chipset, but there is a
fair bit of information around about that.
