I just got Corel Linux OS second edition. it is supposed to be fully
compatible with a PC.
When i run the Installation CD (I boot from the CD). i get a
display reading "Loading Corel
Linux... Starting Corel Linux...
Detecting Hardware...",
then the system emits a
low-volume sound for about 5
seconds, then all processor and
hard drive activity stops. no
display, no nothing!!
I have a Biostar (m7mia)
motherboard, 1333 mhz athlon
processor. 512 DDR mb RAM. 40gb
hard drive. running WIN 98
on partition C and WIN 2000 on
partition E.
Partition F and G were created
and are blank (D is for backup).
any help would be greatly
appreciated.
thank you.

Corel Linux is not real Linux, I suggest that you try Mandrake. it is much more mature and easier to install, another one that is even higher quality than mandrake would be Suse linux. corel is out of the linux biz now since MS paid them off. one other thing about mandrake, it will allow you to partition your harddrive for multiboot without partition magic. Jeremy. PS, for real help in linux, go to alt.os.linux that NG is considered the linux newsgroup.
