I'm a total novice to Linux, and I would like to try linux out. People
recommended Mandrake to get familarize with the Linux OS.

Im not sure if my current hardware setup is compatible. Here is the listing
of the hardware installed in the computer I'll be installing Mandrake 8.0.

Microstar BXMaster with intel BX 440 chipsets
Celeron 566 oveclocked at 850
128 PC 133 SDRAM
Asus v8600 Geforce DDR AGP video card
Built into the motherbaord Promise Ultra 66 controller
Linksys network everywhere 10/100 nic
Pacbell DSL
Soundblaster Live Value
Quantum Firball 20 gig , ata 66, 7200 Harddrive

I'm currently downloading the Mandrake 8.0 with ext ISO.

Which hardware intalled should I replace to insure installation of Mandrake
would run without problems?

Thanks!!

The only bit of your setup which might cause you problems is the on-board
graphics. Mandrake should recognose it well enough to give you a
graphical display, but getting OpenGL support might be difficult.
In addition, if any of your overclocking relies on programs loaded by
windows (like softfsb) then you will not get the benefit of this. And
I've no idea about your DSL setup as I only have experience with modems.
