it's preferable to install linux directly from the cd.

1st need a bios that you can sugest a boot up from cd.( make it boot from
cdrom)
2nd start computer with cd in cdrom.
 3rd follow instruction
that wath i do every time i install a linux program.

On the RedHat CD, there should be a dosutils directory and an images
directory. In the dosutils directory there is a file with instructions on
how to create a 3 1/2 boot disk. If memory serves, the program in the
dosutils directory is rawrite which will start the setup, it will ask you
for the image source name (in your images directory, more than likely
boot.img), then the destination (a).
