Hmmm. Let's see. Cheated on his wife. Took credit for a Nobel Prize winning book he didn't write. Bay of Pigs. Yeah, he was a lot more ethically and morally upstanding than Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Nixon, etc. Jimmy Carter was about the only modern President who can make a claim to being morally and ethically sound. And he was a crappy President. But look at his action since being President. No pictures of him playing golf at a country club, giving inane speeches for outrageous fees, etc. Building houses for the poor, monitoring elections in emerging democracies, talk about your public servant. I don't think we want, or should want, an ethical President. If you swim with sharks, you better be prepared. Also, all this blather about flip flopping and not staying true to every position cracks me up. Since when did we abandon the idea of compromise? If every politician refused to stray from every position, nothing would ever get done, even less than gets done now. But look what happens whenever any pol moves his/her position - they are raked over the coals for flip flopping. There is a big picture, folks. And about these "debates"... Not exactly Lincoln-Douglas are they? Oh well, hold your nose and vote... that's what I do.
