The National Defense Service Medal is the Highest Personal Military Honor (Image: http://www.amervets.com/replacement/nd.htm#isr) Wartime recruits serve to arrest aggression. Peace time recruits serve to prevent aggression. All recruits serve to preserve National Defense. Military personnel serve for the lowest pay under the harshest conditions and with no representation. No Americans service is greater or higher than service in uniform to ensure the protection and defense of the United States of America. The National Defense Service Medal is the only medal worn by all ranks of all service branches over multiple eras. The National Defense Service Medal binds all who serve under one flag color worn on all uniforms: http://www.amervets.com/replacement/nd.htm#isr Operation RetroActive Recognition: http://www.americanwarlibrary.com/retroactive/retro.htm Operation RetroActive Recognition was created to ensure that all recruits, and not just wartime recruits, who served in the interest of National Defense be authorized the National Defense Service Medal.
