Linux vs. Windows

Overall, I would have to say I prefer Linux over Windows simply because I
have a 100kb LAN in my living room. However, there was only one problem
I've had with Linux in the past, and that was on an older computer. I got
the computer for free and I figured I'd use Linux. I got part way through
the installation and it crashed. I still haven't figured it out. I
repartitioned and tried to install again and got the same result. I finally
tried Windows 98 and it fired up on the first try. I think it has to do
with some kind of hardware confliction and the fact that Windows 98 is
overall a little more universally accepted on computers. Luckily, that was
the only computer that that happened to. I've since given the computer to
my friend to use as a second PC to take the load of family members off his
P133. Basically, I guess my motto is, "If I can install it on the right
machines, I'll use Linux :)"
